Visiting school for the first time is the beginning of our entire learning journey. Little did we know that this place will be shaping us, both scholastic and behavioral. It was never a dream of a child to visit a school at that point of his life. It was our parents' dream to watch us step into the learning arena, which is the foundation of our future endeavours. 

A wave of memory hits me when I think about the first day. Children crying for their mother constantly and teachers consoling them. A room where children were made to sit in order in their respective places. I could still remember carrying the foreign things to me at that time, such as a pencil box, notebook and a bag overall. I sincerely believed my mother's words when she said I'll come and stay with you. Little did I know that she was going to betray me. 

The pain I had when my mum left me inside the classroom and the moment when I let her hand go. It makes everyone nostalgic to reminisce about our first day at school. The day started with sorrow for me, however ended with happiness. The teachers were no different than my mother and looked after each student like their own children. What I thought will end in less than an hour is actually prolonged. My mum, who promised to stay with me, left me in vain. I now laugh knowing that she was the one who missed me more during my first day at school than I did. But that day it was gloomy for me. I longed for my mother to come and save me from the classroom. I shouted at the top of my lungs to let me go to my mother. My teacher took my hand and led me towards the entrance. And my mother embraced me with a hug which I can still remember vividly. I said a happy goodbye to my teacher, hoping that I never wanted to see her again. Little did I know that I will be introduced to many more teachers. I realise that I grew up so fast and years rolled away. Now I'm in the final years of my school, but I can still feel the memory of my first day at school!
