The PM-Daksh Scheme is a government program aimed at helping people from underprivileged communities, such as Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), learn new skills. PM-Daksh stands for "Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi." This training helps them find better jobs or even start their own businesses. The scheme provides short-term training, upskilling (learning new skills), and reskilling (updating old skills) through approved training centers. These centers are run by both the government and private organizations. The main aim of this program is to give these communities better chances in life by making them more employable and self-reliant. As of 2023-24, more than 1.87 lakh people have benefited from the scheme, and the government plans to help even more people in the future.

Latest News on the PM-Daksh Scheme

As of February 2025, the PM-Daksh Scheme continues to support marginalized communities by providing them with skill development opportunities. In the financial year 2024-25, the government has allocated Rs. 80 crores for the scheme. The program has already trained over 1.87 lakh people by offering programs in short-term training, upskilling, and entrepreneurship development. However, a challenge has been raising awareness among the targeted communities about the scheme, and the government is working hard to spread information through newspapers and online platforms. The scheme also includes On-the-Job Training (OJT), where beneficiaries gain practical experience by working with private companies.

About the PM-Daksh Yojana
