The candidates appearing for the MPSC exam must be well aware of the exam pattern before beginning their preparations. The MPSC Exam Pattern is given in detail below:
Preliminary Examination
- The MPSC preliminary examination will be qualifying in nature consisting of two papers.
- This MPSC exam will be conducted for 2 hours for each paper.
- There is a negative marking of ¼ th in the MPSC examination.
- The MPSC Examination will be held in English and Marathi language.

Mains Examination
- In the MPSC Mains Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2 are language papers which are Marathi and English which are of qualifying nature.
- MPSC Papers 3 is an Essay Paper, and Papers 4, 5, and 6 are General Studies Papers having descriptive questions.
- The total marks of the MPSC Written Examination is 1750 Marks and the Interview and Personality Test will consist of 275 marks.

Personality Test/ Interview Round is the last stage of the recruitment process conducted for a total of 275 marks. The aspirants who secure the cutoff marks in the MPSC Mains exam will be called to appear for the Interview/ Personality Test.
