One side of the field (unfenced side) = 20 feet

Area of the field = 68 sq ft

Formula Used:

Area of a rectangle = length × width

Perimeter of the fenced sides = 2 × width + length

Calculation:

Let the length be 20 feet (unfenced side) and width be W feet.

Area = length × width

⇒ 680 = 20 × W

⇒ W = 680 / 20

⇒ W = 34 feet

Perimeter of the fenced sides = 2 × width + length
