Number(F) = 40,000 = 40%

Calculation:

⇒ 1% = \(\dfrac{40000}{40}\) = 1000

Now, let's find the % sold after the growth of 12.5% in each company.

Sales of B = 8 + 8(0.125) = 9%

Sales of C = 7 + 7(0.125) = 7.875%

Sales of D = 3 + 3(0.125) = 3.375%

Sales of E = 1 + 1(0.125) = 1.125%

⇒ Average busses sold = \(\dfrac{9 + 7.875 + 3.375 + 1.125}{4}\) × 1000 = 5343.75

∴ The average number of buses sold by D, C, B and E in FY 2020-21 is 5343.75.
