Calculation:

Let the current ages of sisters A and B be 7x and 6x respectively, 

After 12 years, their ages will be (7x + 12) and (6x + 12)

respectively. 

According to the question,

(7x + 12)/(6x + 12) = 9/8

⇒ 8(7x + 12) = 9(6x + 12)

⇒ 56x + 96 = 54x + 108

⇒ 2x = 12
⇒ x = 6

A's current age is 7x = 42

B's current age is 6x = 36.

The difference between their ages is 42 - 36 = 6 years.
