Given

Speed of boat in still water = 30 km/h

Speed of current = 6 km/h

Formula used

Distance = Speed × Time

Upstream speed = Speed of boat - Speed of current

Calculation

Upstream speed = (30 - 6)km/h

⇒ 24 km/h

Distance covered in 1 hour (60 minutes) = 24 km

Distance covered in 1 minutes = (24/60) km

Distance covered in 5 minutes = (24/60) × 5 km

2 km

∴ The distance (in km) travelled upstream in 5 minutes is 2 km.
