Then he takes a left turn and walks for 5 km to reach at point C. Again he takes a left turn and after walking 3 Km he reaches at point D. Now he takes another left turn by walking 2 Km he reaches at point E. After that he takes a right turn and walks for 4 Km to reach at point F. Finally he takes a right turn and after walking for 3 Km he reached at point G.
What is the shortest distance between point E and point G?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFWe have drawn the figure according to the information given in the question,
From the above diagram,
Distance between E and F = 4 Km.
Distance between F and G = 3 Km.
By Pythagoras' theorem,
EG2 = EF2 + FG2 = (4)2 + (3)2
= 16 + 9 = 25
EG = 5 Km
Hence, the shortest distance between point E and point G is 5 Km.
