Given:

Total distance = 35 km

Time taken = 4 hours 15 minutes = 4.25 hours

Distance covered = \(\frac{4}{3}\) of the remaining distance

Formula used:

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

Calculation:

Let remaining distance = x km

⇒ Distance covered = \(\frac{4}{3}x\)

But total distance = distance covered + remaining distance

⇒ \(\frac{4}{3}x + x = 35\)

⇒ \(\frac{7x}{3} = 35\)

⇒ x = \(\frac{35 × 3}{7} = 15\)

⇒ Distance covered = \(\frac{4}{3} × 15 = 20\) km

Speed = Distance ÷ Time = 20 ÷ 4.25 = 4.7

∴ The correct answer is 4.7 km/h (rounded off to one decimal place).
