CP = SP/(100 - Loss)%
CP = SP/(100 + profit)
Calculation:
CP for X = 540 × 100/80 = Rs 675.
The price at which Y sold to Z = 675 + 24% of 675
⇒ 675 + 6/25 × 675 = Rs 837.
The total cost price for Y = 540 + 170 = Rs 710.
Profit for Y = Selling price - CP for Y = 837 - 710 = Rs 127.
∴ Y earned a profit of Rs 127.
