Pedicellate flowers, such as tulips, are those that have a pedicel. On the other hand, sessile flowers like marigolds do not have a pedicel and instead, emerge directly from the stem.
Peduncle
The peduncle is the primary stalk that not only supports a solitary flower or an entire inflorescence but also bears the fruit eventually. This main stalk or stem originates from the main stem and carries multiple pedicels. It is not uncommon for a peduncle to have bracts or leaf modifications at its nodes.
