SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern Tier 1

The SSC Stenographer Tier 1 Exam consists of three sections - General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension. The exam will be conducted online in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format, and it will comprise a total of 200 questions, each carrying 1 mark. The marking scheme for Tier 1 has been changed, and now there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. SSC Stenographer Skill Test Exam Pattern 

The Tier 2 Exam is for those who qualify for the Tier 1 CBT Exam. Tier 2 will be a skill test where candidates will first have to write a passage on any given topic in 10 minutes at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D.SSC Stenographer Tier 2 is the second stage of the selection process and is a skill test round. Candidates who have qualified for the Tier 1 Computer Based Test (CBT) will be eligible to appear for Tier 2. The Tier 2 exam is a shorthand skill test in which candidates' stenography skills are evaluated.

In Tier 2, candidates will be given a dictation in either English or Hindi, based on their preference selected during the online application. The dictation speed will be 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for candidates applying for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for candidates applying for the post of Stenographer Grade D. The SSC Stenographer Tier 2 Exam Pattern is as follows:

There are two tiers which candidates have to go through in the SSC Stenographer Selection Process.

Yes, Tier I and Tier II of the SSC Stenographer have varied syllabi as the exam pattern for both the tiers are also different.
The topics in the SSC StenoTier I Exam are- General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension.
The SSC Stenographer Tier I will be 200 marks. The General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness will be 50 marks each and the English Language and Comprehension section will be 100 marks.
The SSC Stenographer Tier I Exam will be conducted in an online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The time duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
