UPSC IFS Prelims Result 2025 OUT

The Union Public Service Commission has announced the UPSC IFS Prelims Result 2025 based on the performance of candidates in the Written Examination conducted on 25th May, 2025. Now, the shortlisted candidates will be appearing for the Mains Exam scheduled to be held from 16 November, 2025 onwards. Candidates can download the official Result PDF as well as the Merit List of shortlisted candidates from the official website @upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC IFS final merit list contains the roll numbers and names of candidates who are recommended for appointment to the Indian Forest Services. In IFS Result 2024, Kanika Anbh from Ranchi secured AIR 1 in the Examination. The marks of the candidates are not disclosed yet. Candidates will receive their final IFS Result based on their cumulative performance in the prelims, mains and interview rounds of the IFS exam.

Step 1 – Online Registration

Visit the official website of UPSC. Go to the 'One Time Registration' portal. Click on 'New Registration'. Enter the required details and register yourself.

Step 2 – Fill Out the UPSC IFS Application Form

After registration, go to the 'Notifications' page. Click on the application link for the UPSC IFS 2025 Exam. Login with the credentials provided during registration. Carefully fill out all details in the UPSC IFS Application Form carefully. Check the details entered. Save and proceed further.

Step 3 – Upload the Documents

Submit all required documents, including educational certificates, identification proof, age relaxation is applicable, photograph, signature, etc. These documents must be in the format as prescribed by the authorities. You can use theTestbook Resize Tool to optimize these documents.

Step 4 – Pay the Application Fee

Pay the application fee for the UPSC IFS Exam, as per your category.

Step 5: Submit the Application Form

Candidates can ultimately click on the “I Agree” option and submit the application form after filling in all the details. Candidates will be given a Registration Number; make sure to keep it safe and make copies of the application form for future reference.

The preliminary examination consists of two objective-type MCQ papers of 200 marks each. Paper-I tests the candidates' general aptitude and mental ability while Paper II evaluates their knowledge of the CSAT. Both papers needs to be cleared separately to qualify for the IFS mains examination.

Stage 2 – Mains Examination

The IFS mains consist of 6 papers of conventional essay type questions. Paper I & II are general papers that evaluate the candidates' knowledge of English, and  General Studies, Papers III - VI are on optional subjects. The optional papers require candidates to choose any two subjects from the list of 14 options. Candidates who clear the mains proceed for the final stage.

Stage 3 – Interview

Candidates who clear the mains exam are called for an interview/personality test where they will be assessed on their character, intellect, and suitability for civil service by a board of competent and unbiased observers specially designated by UPSC. The interview is meant to assess the mental caliber, critical powers of discrimination, integrity of character, intelligence, qualities of leadership, and the variety and depth of a candidate's interests. The interview carries 300 marks. The UPSC IFS Interview 2024 will be conducted from 21 April to 2 May, 2025 in the Forenoon & Afternoon Sessions per day.

UPSC IFS Eligibility 2025

Before applying for the UPSC IFS Recruitment, candidates must make sure that they fulfil each of the eligibility requirements specified in the official notification, including age and education criteria as well as the criteria for the number of attempts. The salary structure for an IFS officer is at par with other Central Civil Services like IAS. A starting basic pay of ₹56,100 (Level-10) in the pay matrix is given which increases to ₹1,51,100 (Level-15) for Senior Time Scale upon completion of 8 years. There is also a non-practising allowance of 20% of basic pay for IFS officers who are doctors. Upon promotion as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, one gets a salary in Level-16 of ₹1,82,200-₹2,24,100. Perks like accommodation facilities, children's education allowance, CGHS/CS(MA) benefits are also provided. UPSC IFS Admit Card 2025

The UPSC IFS Admit Card is an important document issued by the UPSC to candidates appearing for the IFS exam.
