Formula Used:

Time to empty part of the tank = (Part of the tank) × (Total time to empty the tank)

Calculation:

Time to empty the entire tank = 5 hours

Part of the tank to be emptied = 2/15

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank = \(\frac{2}{15} × 5\) hours

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank = \(\frac{2}{15} × 5\)

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank = \(\frac{10}{15}\)  hours

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank = \(\frac{2}{3}\)  hours

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank in minutes = \(\frac{2}{3} × 60\)

Time to empty 2/15 of the tank in minutes = 40 minutes
