- प्रकाश-वियुग्मक एक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरण होता है जो दो विलगित परिपथों के बीच प्रकाश का उपयोग करके विद्युत सिग्नलों का आदान-प्रदान करता है। उसे प्रकाश-विलगक, फोटो वियुग्मक अथवा ऑप्टिक विलगक भी कहते हैं।
- प्रकाश-विलगक एक ही पैकेज में LED और एक फोटोडायोड का संयोजन है|
- अल्प वोल्टेज अथवा शोर के प्रति अधिक संवेदनशील परिपथों में प्रकाश-वियुग्मक का उपयोग परिपथों को विलगित करने के लिए होता है ताकि विद्युत टकराव का निवारण हो सके अथवा अवांछित ध्वनियों को रहित किया जा सके।
- प्रकाश-विगलक सिग्नल प्राप्त करने वाले प्रणाली को उच्च वोल्टेज से प्रभावित होने से रोकते हैं|
