Given:

Income ratio (A : B) = 7 : 10

Expenditure ratio (A : B) = 2 : 3

Savings of A = ₹1,000

Savings of B = ₹1,000

Formula used:

Income = Expenditure + Savings

Let income of A = 7x, income of B = 10x

Let expenditure of A = 2y, expenditure of B = 3y

Calculation:

7x - 2y = 1000 …(1)

10x - 3y = 1000 …(2)

Multiply (1) by 3: ⇒ 21x - 6y = 3000

Multiply (2) by 2: ⇒ 20x - 6y = 2000

Subtract: ⇒ (21x - 6y) - (20x - 6y) = 3000 - 2000

⇒ x = 1000

⇒ Income of B = 10x = 10 × 1000 = ₹10,000

∴ The correct answer is ₹10,000
