Savings of A = ₹1,000
Savings of B = ₹1,000
Formula used:
Income = Expenditure + Savings
Let income of A = 7x, income of B = 10x
Let expenditure of A = 2y, expenditure of B = 3y
Calculation:
7x - 2y = 1000 …(1)
10x - 3y = 1000 …(2)
Multiply (1) by 3: ⇒ 21x - 6y = 3000
Multiply (2) by 2: ⇒ 20x - 6y = 2000
Subtract: ⇒ (21x - 6y) - (20x - 6y) = 3000 - 2000
⇒ x = 1000
⇒ Income of B = 10x = 10 × 1000 = ₹10,000
∴ The correct answer is ₹10,000
