Let the weight of grocery item be 1 kg.

⇒ Actual quantity sold by Shopkeeper = 85% of 1000 gm = 850gm

Let cost price of 1 gm of grocery item be Rs. 1

⇒ Cost price of sold item = Rs. 850

⇒ Profit percentage = 10%

⇒ Selling price of this item = 1000 + 10% of 1000 = (110/100) × 1000 = Rs. 1100

Now,

⇒ Profit percentage = {(1100 – 850)/850} × 100 = 29.41%
