Single-value capacitor run motor
- This type of induction motor consists of a squirrel cage rotor and the stator has two windings i.e. starting or auxiliary winding and main or running winding.
- This motor has one capacitor "C" which is connected in series with the starting winding of the motor. This capacitor is permanently connected in the circuit both at the starting and running conditions of the motor.
- It is also called a Single Value Capacitor Motor. As the capacitor is always in the circuit and thus this type of motor does not contain any starting switch.
- The auxiliary winding is always there in the circuit. Therefore, the motor operates as a balanced two-phase motor.
- The motor produces a starting torque that is about 50 to 100% of the rated torque.
