GIVEN:

∠BAC = ∠BCD, AB = 32 cm and BD = 18 cm

CONCEPT:

If two triangles are similar, the ratio of respective sides will be equal.

CALCULATION:

In triangle ABC and CBD;

∠BAC = ∠BCD

∠B is common

Hence, triangles ABC and CBD are similar by AA similarity.

∴ AB/CB = BC/BD

⇒ BC2 = 32 × 18 = 576
