Given:

Ram starts from point A at 8 a.m. and reaches point B at 2 p.m. on the same day.

Raju starts from point B at 8 a.m. and reaches point A at 6 p.m.

Concept used:

Speed = Distance/Time

When two bodies move in the opposite direction then the Relative Speed = Sum of Speeds

Calculation:

Let the distance be D

So, speed of Ram = D/6 and speed of Raju = D/10

Now,

Relative speed = D/6 + D/10

⇒ (5D + 3D)/30

⇒ (8D)/30

Required time = \(\rm \frac{D}{\frac{8D}{30}}\)

⇒ \(\rm \frac{30D}{8D}\)

⇒ \(\rm \frac{30}{8}\) hours or 225 minutes [As 1 hour = 60 min]

So, they will meet at 8 + 225 min

⇒ 8 + 3 hours and 45 min

⇒ 11:45 a.m.

∴ The required answer is 11:45 a.m.
