A starter is an electrical device that controls the electrical power for starting a motor. These electrical devices are also used for the purpose of stopping, reversing, and protecting electric motors.
The starter needs a heavy electric current, which it draws through thick wires from the battery.
These wires are put inside the flexible conduits.
Flexible conduits are used for connection from the starter to the motor as it is to be taken over the foundation bed on which the motor is placed.
The length of the flexible conduits used for the connection between the terminal boxes of the motor and the starter should not be more than 1.25 m.
When the conduit is to be run on the floor, it is generally installed 0.25 m to 0.5 m below the floor.
