Question
Download Solution PDFA fruit-seller buys 2 lemons in one rupee and sells 5 lemons for three rupees. What is his gain percent?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFFormula Used:
Gain% = (Gain/C.P.)× 100
Calculation:
C.P. of 2 lemons = Rs. 1
⇒ C.P. of 1 lemons = Rs. 1/2 = 0.5
S.P. of 5 lemons = Rs. 3
⇒ S.P. of 1 lemon = Rs. 3/5 = 0.6
Using above formula-
⇒ Gain% = \(\frac{0.6 \ - \ 0.5}{0.5}\times 100 \) = \(\frac{1}{5}\times 100 \ \) = 20%
∴ The gain percent is 20% .
