The time taken to complete first part of the journey = 37.5 minutes

The speed of a person in first part of the journey = 90 km/h

The time taken to complete remaining part of the journey = 14 minutes

The speed of a person for remaining part of the journey = 80 km/h

Formula used:

Distance = speed × time

Calculation:

Distance travelled by a person in first part = (90 × 37.5)/60 = 225/4 = 56\(\frac{1}{4}\) km

Distance travelled by a person in second part = (80 × 14)/60 = 56/3 = 18\(\frac{2}{3}\) km

Total distance covered by the person = 56\(\frac{1}{4}\) + 18\(\frac{2}{3}\)

⇒ (56 + 18) + \(\frac{1}{4}\) + \(\frac{2}{3}\) = 74 + \(\frac{11}{12}\) = 74\(\frac{11}{12}\) km

∴ The correct answer is 74\(\frac{11}{12}\) km.
