Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Amit can complete a piece of work in 5 hours; Jeevan and Paul together can complete It In 4 hours, while Amit and Paul together can complete It In 3 hours.
Concept used:
Efficiency = (Total work / Total time taken)
Efficiency = work done in a single day
Calculation:
Let total work is 60 units ( LCM of 3,4 and 5 and 18)
The efficiency of Amit is 60 /5 = 12 units
The efficiency of Jeevan and Paul together is 60 / 4 = 15 units
The efficiency of Amit and Paul together is 60/3 = 20 units
The efficiency of Amit is 60 /5 = 12 units
The efficiency of paul is 20 - 12= 8units
The efficiency of Jeevan is 15 - 8 = 7 units
Jeevan alone take to complete the work 60 / 7 = 9 hr(approx)
∴ The correct option is 3
