Scheme 1:

⇒ (1 - 0.05) × (1 - 0.05)

⇒ 0.95 × 0.95

⇒ 0.9025

⇒ Effective discount = 1 - 0.9025 = 0.0975 or 9.75%

Scheme 2:

⇒ Single discount = 10%

Scheme 3:

⇒ (1 - 0.08) × (1 - 0.02)
