Before moving on to the normalization formula, it is important for the candidates to know what is the SSC CGL Normalization Process? We all know, SSC CGL form is filled up by lakhs of students, so it is not possible for the board to conduct the exam in one shift one day all across the country, that is when normalization comes into picture. Normalization is done for the exams that are conducted in more than one session to equalize the scores obtained by candidates. Because of the Normalization Formula, it becomes possible to equalize the scores of candidates appearing in various shifts as the difficulty level of each shift is measured.
- For calculating the final cut off and preparing the final merit list, the SSC CGL Normalization Process will be considered. This means that the normalized marks of the candidates will be considered.
- The normalization is done on the basis of assumption that the candidates appearing in all the shifts have the same ability.

Why Normalization?
