Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development.

It was launched on 20 June 2020 for 125 days to boost employment and livelihood opportunities for migrant workers returning to villages and similarly affected citizens in rural areas.
The key objectives of this Abhiyaan were to provide immediate employment opportunities to returnee migrant workers and similarly affected citizens in rural areas, to saturate villages with public infrastructure and assets, to set a Stage for enhancing long-term livelihood opportunities.
The Abhiyaan has helped in empowering villagers with livelihood opportunities in the selected 116 districts of 6 states namely Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
During the Abhiyaan, 50.78crore person-days were generated with a total expenditure of Rs. 39,293 crore.
The Abhiyaan's success is an outcome of convergent efforts of 12 Ministries/Departments and State Governments, which are giving a higher quantum of benefits to the migrant workers and rural communities.
